AcuBase Standard 2.003 was developed by a team of programmers
most of whom are also intimately involved in traditional Chinese
medicine. AcuBase Standard 2.003 is actually the first major upgrade
to the original, best-selling AcuBase Standard, which included
modifiable databases full of acupoints, herbs, formulas, and "practice
questions." In this, the last AcuBase software release of the
millennium, there are new tools for the everyday practitioner
that are at once practical and not overly complicated, and to
offer all of it at a bargain price ($236.50!). With these goals in mind, we have been given permission to add
over 500 patent formulas and related information from the world's
top vendors (including K'an Herbs, Health Concerns, East West Herbs, Lotus Herbs, Golden
Flower Chinese Herbs, Mayway (Plum Flower and Min Shan), Chinese
Modular Solutions, Spring Wind Herbs, Tashi Enterprises (Min Tong),
and the Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine and Preventive Health!). We've also integrated Inventory, Patient Information, and
billing!

2.003 is extremely intuitive and easy to use, even for those who
fear the sight of computers. It works on the Macintosh and PC, and consists of the following components and features:
- Patient Information & HCFA Billing! With AcuBase 2.003, you can also keep track of patient records,
including related faxes, phone records, intakes, patient progress
reports, and other information. Our Superbills and HCFA 1500 forms
are easy to fill out on the screen, and print beautifully. They
include pop-up fields with modifiable diagnosis (ICD-9) and procedure
(CPT) codes, as well as the ability to create superbills for related
products (herbs, formulas, etc.). Patient records are easy to
review, with summaries of activities and billing shown on a single
screen. No more sifting through paper records to find patient-related
medical or billing information!
- An Integrated Inventory System! AcuBase 2.003's inventory system allows you to keep track of herbs, formulas,
patent formulas, and any other equipment you use, and automatically
adjusts as you sell these items. Related reports keep you abreast
of what you have in stock, and what you may need to order. No
more worrying about your inventory!
- Patent Formulas From The Top Vendors! We have been given permission by some of the most popular vendors
in the field to include their patent formulas and related text
in AcuBase 2.003. These include such notables as K'an Herbs, Health Concerns,
East West Herbs, Golden Flower, Lotus Herbs, Spring Wind, Seven
Forests, Mayway, NuHerb, and Min Tong, among others. No more searching
through each company's books and catalogs for the appropriate
formula and information!
- Relational Design! While looking at a given formula or patent formula, get information
on a specific herb in that formula with a single click of the
mouse! While looking at a given herb, a list of all standard and
patent formulas in the database that contain that herb are also
shown, most of which may be accessed with a single click. For
each item in the database, whether standard herbs or formulas
or patents, you can also see how much of that item you have in
inventory, and/or add it to your inventory with a single click.
While looking at vendor information, all related herbs, formulas,
patent formulas, and products in inventory from that vendor are
also shown, and may be easily accessed. Access all patient-related
data from one central patient file, whether it be calls, faxes,
intakes, or Superbills. No more fruitless searches for related
information!
- User-specific Preferences! From the Main Menu, you can specify your own clinic information,
logos, tax rates on products and procedures, procedure codes,
printing preferences, and even currency symbols (dollars, pounds,
yen, etc.). In addition, every record, whether it be herbs, points,
patent formulas, inventory, or patient information, may be edited,
deleted, and otherwise modified to your heart's content. Search
for herbs, formulas, inventory, patents…anything, by any field
in the database. Finding the right points, herbs, or formulas
by indication is quick and easy. No more adapting your practice
to fit your computer's preferences!
- Context-sensitive Help! Every screen in AcuBase has a help button that tells you about
every feature on that screen. No more leafing through manuals!
