Overview

 Build collaborative relationships with physicians with the use of Acubase. Drug-herb interaction print outs from Acubase could be very helpful in your collaboration with western medicine practitioners. Many doctors know that there are both negative and serious side effects of many drugs that they continue to recommend. They also know that more deaths each year happen because of drug interactions, wrong drug, and wrong dose administration than even auto deaths.

Even though these side effects are written (albeit, in tiny print on the bottles) or are available from the pharmacist, these side effects are rarely read or understood by the patient. Many patients acquiese with thoughts such as, "My doctor recommended it for me so it must be good for me," yet don't know what to do about the fact of these side effects. Many doctors have not felt comfortable recommending alternatives to many drugs simply because training in other alternatives have not been in their training and they have not developed a collaborative rapport with acupuncturist/herbalists. This is where an informed acupuncturist and/or herbalist can be an ally of the physician and a patient advocate. Hence, the Acubase print outs from the drug herb interaction section can be useful in communicating with physicians and patients.
